In a bold move, Trump targets India for fueling Russia’s war machine
Former U.S. President Donald Trump has reignited global trade tensions by signing an executive order that imposes a 50% tariff on all Indian imports. The drastic measure—up from a previous 25%—comes in direct response to India’s continued purchase and resale of discounted Russian crude oil.
“India is helping Russia fund its war,” Trump said during a press conference at Mar-a-Lago. “They’re buying massive amounts of Russian oil, reselling it, and making profits. That ends now.”
