The New York Giants were left heartbroken on Sunday after running back Cam Skattebo suffered a devastating right ankle dislocation during their latest matchup. The promising young star went down awkwardly after a tackle in the second quarter, and medical staff immediately rushed to his aid.
Teammates surrounded Skattebo as he was carted off the field, visibly emotional. Sources close to the team described the locker room atmosphere as “shocked and devastated,” with several players calling the injury a “massive setback” for their offensive rhythm.
Head coach Brian Daboll said after the game that Skattebo will undergo further scans to determine the extent of the damage but admitted the initial outlook is “not encouraging.”
Before the injury, Skattebo had been one of the Giants’ brightest sparks this season, bringing energy and consistency to their ground game. His absence now raises serious questions about the team’s playoff hopes as they prepare for a crucial stretch of games ahead.
