Ryder Cup 2025

The Ryder Cup, one of the most iconic events in world sport, will return in 2025 with fierce competition between Team USA and Team Europe. Unlike traditional golf tournaments, the Ryder Cup is a match-play team event, pitting the best golfers from both sides of the Atlantic against each other in a unique battle of strategy, pressure, and pride.

The 2025 edition will be staged at the Bethpage Black Course in New York from September 26–28. Over the course of three days, 28 matches will determine the winner. The first two days will feature foursomes (alternate-shot pairs) and fourballs (best-ball pairs), while the final day will see 12 singles matches that often decide the fate of the trophy. Each match carries one point, with 14½ needed for outright victory. In the event of a 14–14 tie, the defending champions retain the Cup.

Teams and Captains

For 2025, Keegan Bradley leads Team USA, while Luke Donald captains Team Europe. Both sides have unveiled powerful squads filled with major champions and rising stars.

All-Time Winners and Legacy

Since its creation in 1927, the Ryder Cup has showcased some of golf’s greatest rivalries. The United States holds the overall advantage in victories, but since Europe expanded its team in 1979 to include continental players, the contests have become far more balanced and fiercely contested.

As of 2023, the U.S. leads the all-time record with 27 wins, while Europe has 15, along with 2 ties. Europe claimed the most recent Cup in 2023, defeating the Americans 16½ to 11½ in Rome.

The Ryder Cup remains much more than a golf event—it is a global sporting spectacle defined by teamwork, national pride, and the drama of match play. The 2025 edition promises to continue that legacy, with golf fans worldwide eagerly awaiting another chapter in this legendary rivalry.
